MI trip | May 2015

so, back in May

our great grandma decided to

move out of her lake house. so we were 

asked if a few of us would want to come down 

and help pack up. we decided that Mary

Esther and I would go.

I'm a big road trip fan so I was so excited!

 Esther and I... and all our sleeping bags!

 got some reading done!

 for dinner our grandpa took us to this pizzaria 

that he used to go to when he was in highschool!

it tasted amazing! but when isn't pizza amazing? ;)

 Mary got to drive over the Mackinac bridge for the first time!

glad I got to experience that :)

 we got there just in time to see the sunset!

but before you exit the backdoor to get pictures you have to

be fully aware that when you go back in, you'll most likely have 

a gazillion mosquito bites! but it's worth it!

 of course, me and Esther went out to

pick flowers... 

 I even found some of my favorite flowers!

 I love trips to MI because you drive through the woods

a lot and they're always beautiful whether it be 

the colors changing in fall or the trees bright green during spring.

God's creation always fascinates me!

 on our way home as tradition leaving MI,

we got mackinaw city fudge, caramel apples,

popcorn and caramels! 

 it was rainy and beautiful!

I think I slept the majority of the ride home!

It was very sad knowing that, that may be our last time 

at trout lake, but I'm grateful I got to be part of

the moving crew and help grandma settle in her new house.

Annual Spring Church Camping | April 2015

yes, i still have more spring posts. =O

but i'm trying to get em all up soon! for our

annual spring church camping, we

went to Brown County State Park... our second time there.

it's a beautiful place! 

Valerie and I were back bench buddies.

 that exciting moment when you finally arrive!

 I shared  a tent with Emily and Mary the first

night... we got soaked from the rain so our friends

 shared their DRY tent with us!

 all the little adventures my friends and I went on... the highlight!

 lilacs have a thing for smelling great! 

 it's always nice when your sisters let you ride their 

bikes around the campground! (s/o to Mary =D)

 the next day, Susanna and I had been hiking with a 

group but were quickly left behind to go off trail and explore!

 Saturday was a cold rainy morning, so 

we went and sat in the lodge all morning doing

bible study and each others hair!

 after we had gone back and had lunch, Me, Anna and Charissa

were tired of being cooped up inside all morning so we

decided to hike in the rain... which lifted shortly after we

headed out!

 found some of my favorite flowers.

always a plus!

 on Sunday after everyone had packed up, a bunch of us girls 

decided to take a hike.

 after our hike, we didn't have a ride! so we had to start walking

and it was a VERY long walk! some of the girls got picked up 

but I stayed with Kate and Maggie... Kate didn't want

Maggie dirtying anyone's car with all her mud and hair!

so we finally got picked up by dad when we had

finally made it in sight of the campground!

 and... we were homeward bound! the sad part...

so... we just got back from our Fall trip to the dunes and I

have many photos from it! but summer posts are first!

Spring Break // 2015 - Pt.3

I'm back!

I didn't forget about this last spring break post

(Yayyy! finally!). now I can start getting

other summer posts up and get caught up to where

I'd like to be! but first...

Day 6...

so, before we needed to leave for stone Mt. I
got some of my stuff packed up so I wouldn't have to
do it all the next morning! than
I helped pack lunch.

we had a little picnic before we climbed!

 there's the skyline of Atlanta!

afterwords we were all drenched in sweat so
we stopped and got icey's!! basically just got a bunch
of flavors mixed! because why not?

we went back to Hannah's house and

got cleaned up and ready to go out for dinner!

we waited for maybe half an hour to an hour
because Marietta diner gets so packed!

I got a steak filet panini sandwich
& sweet potato fries... I was stuffed after
a little bit! I had already eaten appetizers!

then.... we got baklava cheesecake!
it is SUCH a brilliant combination &
tastes way too good!

day 7...

after packing up & STUFFING the car to the 

max, we went to krispy kreme for 

a breakfast of warm fresh doughnuts ♥

than we went on a quick
shopping trip to get birthday gifts...
and then we were homeward bound!

had a stuffy, no feet room, shoulder to shoulder
ride home with these crazies in the back seat!

we survived the the drive home and had
some great laughs too!

so grateful I was able to be a last minute joiner 

to the road trip! I had a blast and

couldn't have asked for better travel companions!

Kelsey is a great ringleader for a trip!

Natalie and Valerie were great fun have along

because whenever we were waiting to go somewhere 

or waiting on someone, we'd take distorted pictures,

paint nails or just pester each other!

I hope to improve a steady pace of posts!
